Vegetation Management
The mission of the Utilities Board of the City of Foley (Riviera Utilities) is to continuously provide high quality, reliable service and value, while constantly striving to improve ourselves and the communities we serve. This essential service is supplied through a well-maintained power delivery system and an integral part of that process is our Vegetation Management program. When trees grow too close to or into power lines, they create a safety hazard and can cause power interruptions. In an effort to improve safety and reliability, we have adopted a vegetation management policy to clear and maintain "safety maintenance zones" around all Riviera Utilities' equipment. Our program is based on industry-wide best management practices and is supported by years of research from leading vegetation management experts and arboricultural organizations. The plan includes various combinations of tree pruning, tree removals, brush cutting and herbicide application. At Riviera Utilities, we are proud to serve South Baldwin County and look forward to delivering you the best electric service for years to come.
